Playing It Straight - The Result

***Spoilers Alert***

So, the final of Playing It Straight has arrived...and everyone was curious to know whether or not Cara picked the straight man as the winner, leaving both able to walk away with £25k.

So, did she do it??

First of all, Cara and the boys received the dreaded visit from Jameela, who informed Cara that "at least" one of the boys left was straight...and "at least" one of the boys was gay.  This, of course, did not make things any easier for poor Cara.

Then, we saw Cara have to pick one of the last remaining four boys to leave the Hacienda.  It was a cruel twist in the form of four envelopes that each invited the boys on a date with Cara...except envelope number 4, which saw the chosen boy get sent back home to England.  That boy was....

Danny.  "But before you go, I have to know...are you gay or are you straight?" - He was gay.  Cheeky!  But, out of the last four, he was definitely the gayest.

Cara was not happy.

So, after the dates, Cara still felt none the wiser.  Out of Sam, Sven and Dean, she had to send someone home before picking the winner out of the final two.

Sam was invited up onto the step...Cara sent him packing.  That's when she found out whether or not she made the right decision...and she had done!!  Sam, just like his twin brother, was gay.  After this revelation, he was told to "just go!" and off he went.

Again, Cara was not happy...

So, two boys left.  Sven - the most boisterous out of everyone in the group, and deemed "too straight to be straight", and Dean - who had developed a bromance with - previously outed - Danny.

And the winner is...

Dean!  Cara chose Dean as the straight man.  And what did he turn out to be?

Straight!!  They won!  Well, this had to be the first time anyone saw Cara crack a smile since the competition began.  But being £25k richer would certainly put a smile on anyone's face.  There was much picking up and swinging around done while both Dean and Cara cheered.

As for Sven...who was stood there waiting to confess whether or not he was gay or straight and confirm whether Cara would have still won, or lost if she had picked him...he made his way to the top of the steps and looked Cara in those beadies of hers.

He offered the same suspense that Cara did each week while he waited to hear if he would be staying/leaving the Hacienda.

And what was he?

Gay!!!  Yes - that boisterous little beast turned out to be gay!  What a player.  Luckily for him (and his marbles) though, Cara was too happy with her recent win to really care anymore.

Out of the remaining four boys, Cara picked the only one that was straight as the winner!

Very good - well done!  Now roll on the next series...

Katy Perry and Russell Brand

It was so sad to see that Katy Perry and Russell Brand are getting divorced.  There seems to be a worldwide commiseration for their split.

However, on the bright side, when Katy Perry breaks up with someone, she knocks out a great tune that makes every girl know that they don't need a man to be the best that they can be.

First, we had 'Circle The Drain', and now we have 'Part of Me'.

Here are links to both of the songs:

Listen to these and you'll be feeling confident enough to not rely on boys/men!  She's like the modern day Alanis Morrisette... OK, not quite!

Enjoy!!

Coo-ee

Hello viewers!

What a stressful time I've had recently - hence, no blog posts for weeks.  Whoops!  I do apologise, this was not because I have been ignoring my wonderful readers, it's because things have been slightly hectic this week.

The reason for this?

I moved house last week!  Hurrah!

Me and my boyfriend, Rob, bought a house and got the keys last Tuesday.  Needless to say, since then things have been rather busy and I have not had much time to blog.  Boohoo.

However, I am back...hopefully with a vengence.

Also, prior to moving house, I had some assignments due in for Uni so those cheeky little characters took up a lot of my time.

Prepare yourselves for mass blogging as I tell you about the things I have been up to...

Cheryl Cole and Ashley Cole Reunited?

I sensed this would happen after Chezza was ditched on both sides of the pond by the show that boosted her recognition: The X Factor...

Feeling upset that the USA and the UK do not want her anymore (exaggeration - it was only Simon!), she went running back to the one person who she knew did want her.  No, not David Hough (he was next in line if the first person wasn't in).

Ashley Cole.

The man who cheated on her.

Twice.

Of course she would want to go back to such a catch.  He's rich, handsome, faithful.  Oh wait, I got carried away there and forgot that I'd already mentioned that he has cheated on her.

Twice.

So, what is she thinking?

My guess is that she's so aware of the negative press after her booting from both X Factors that she needed to divert the attention.  What better way than to shit on upset all of her loyal fans, who supported her throughout her marriage breakdown and were given the strength to walk away from similar relationships, by returning to the king of the rats that caused such grief.

Twice.

King Rattigan (Ashley Cole)
Still, Cheryl began her X Factor career after Ashley cheated on her (the second time).  She may as well conclude it by going full circle and back to where it started.

Perhaps she is hoping that he will cheat again and that will prompt a second wind for her X Factor career...?!

Katy Perry and Russell Brand

Word on the street (well, in gossip mags and The Sun...) is that Katy Perry and Russell Brand's marriage is on the rocks as he has been spotted holding hands with a blonde.

If this is true, it begs the question: what is he thinking?

Katy Perry is beautiful and funny; the latter being a rarity in the celeb world. Why would he want to cheat on her?

Well, apparently, Russell considers KP's current 80s fashion style to be 'silly'.

Surely this is a bit rich coming from someone who went through a huge spell of infamy as a result of phoning up Andrew Sachs and leaving an offensive voicemail for the sake of comedy value.

It has also been suggested that Russ is upset that people in the US only know who he is as a result of his marriage to Ms Perry.

So, what better way to gain recognition, and respect, by the US than cheating on one of America's Sweethearts?

Good one, Russ!

Jackass!

Loula's advice? Stop being a whiney little bitch and be happy for your wife. Man up and stop being jealous of her journey to world pop domination. Support her instead of trying to destroy her... Jackass!

After seeing the two of them pictured together this week, the infidelity gossip could in fact be rumours...

Five Years!

I am proud to inform you that five years ago today, Rob and I became an item.

I love him very much.

There is still no ring on my finger but we are taking it at our own pace. There is no rush when you're destined to be together forever anyway.

(Obviously, inside, I'm actually screaming due to lack of ring!)

It does get difficult when I see that friends are moving in with, and getting married to, their partners when they have not been together for as long as we have. I just have to remind myself that it's not a race and we will do everything at our own pace.

We are going a step in the right direction though with our house, so once Rob realises that he can actually live with me (let's call a spade a spade here, I'm going to be a nightmare! Fact!) I'm sure he'll pop the big Q.

Rob is amazing though (*dry heave*) and I do believe fate intervenes with our relationship at times.

The key, however, is to maintain great communication and to just have fun in the relationship. We're always playful with each other, whether it's a bit of banter or tickling each other for possession of the remote control.

Laughter is golden.

Don't get me wrong though, we do have our arguments. Of course we do. It would be unhealthy not to argue. That's when communication comes into it and we talk through our problems.

Relationships are hard work and if it's not worth fighting for, it won't work!

5 years of tears and tantrums (all Rob's) have been worth it for our relationship. Love and laughter overrule.

Magaluf Trust

I dropped Rob at the pub this afternoon where he met five of our friends for a lads' holiday (and Stag do) in Magaluf.

They are going for five, yes five, days. I'm so gutted - I want to go too!

Obviously, as I am female, I would not fit in on a stag weekend. However, I have my own plans for the weekend.

They may not be as fun as a few days in the sun but I will certainly be having a good catch up, and a Singstar night, with some good friends. Fantastic.

I can hear many of you out there shouting, asking, questioning whether or not I trust Rob in a town full of sunkissed beauties (and slags).

The truth?

Yes, I do! :o]

So you would?

I find the whole Ryan Giggs and Imogen Thomas scandal quite fascinating.

It's interesting to see that many men out there have said "I would" about Ms Thomas. So you would risk your relationship (well, marriage!) and respect from your family and friends just for a fumble with a glamour model?

Yes, you probably would. Sex is the most important thing in the world and if you boys aren't getting your end away with some hottie then the whole universe will be destroyed.

Truth is, most men who agree with what Giggsy has done are probably punching above their weight anyway and fantasy always seems better. It seems possible (not probable).

Don't get me wrong. I'm sure there are many women out there who are of the same opinion about Mr Giggs too. They would also give up everything for a gorgeous footballer.

Again, fantasy is a wonderful thing.

However, the person Giggsy gave up everything for was someone who shot to fame from Big Brother...and had a sex tape on the internet. Not exactly the person you'd like to introduce to Mom.

It's funny how all these footballers tend to be drawn to the fame-hungry girls who are the most likely to sell a kiss and tell story.

When will they learn?

Still, their stupidity is our entertainment I suppose...

Roll on the next doofus!

Predictions as to who the next footballer is to cheat on their wife are welcome...

Previous Doofuses/Doofi:
• David Beckham
• Wayne Rooney
• Peter Crouch
• John Terry
• Ashley Cole
• Ryan Giggs (new addition)

What's going on?

Playing my role as the good girlfriend last night I picked up Rob, my boyfriend, from the pub as he decided to leave his car and have a few drinks. He has no work today.

It was around 11:30pm when I picked him up so I didn't get to bed till at least 12:00.

That's not what's wrong here...

Somewhere along the line I got roped into taking him to pick his car up at 9:30am this morning! Good grief - I didn't know this was part of the deal when I agreed to pick him up last night.

Would it have been wrong to have told him that I'd rather have a lie-in...?
