I am sure many of you who have found yourself looking at this blog entry are here because you have typed the words "Samantha" or "Brick" (or, most likely, both) into a search engine.
Now, usually, typing in the word "brick" would direct you to a picture or description of that wonderful little item that is used to build houses, but as of yesterday, the word "Brick" would actually send you in the direction of a couple of articles written by the now infamous journalist; Samantha Brick.
As you are all aware, there has been a backlash of hatred thrown at Ms Brick for the article that was printed in the Daily Mail yesterday: "Don't hate me because I'm beautiful!"
With a title like that, surely she knew that people across the country, and also the world, would not be thrilled by what they were going to read!?
After reading the article myself, I found myself feeling so irritated by Samantha Brick's statements. Not necessarily the way she was loving herself far too much, but because of her insulting view of other women. She kept banging on about how women HATE her because she is "beautiful".
Well, that sent my blood bubbling. I know so many women who are naturally beautiful but I have never ever disliked them for it; and, I have never met any woman who has HATED another woman because they are beautiful. It's absurd! And it is this view, more than anything, which makes me think that Samantha Brick is exceptionally deluded, not because she considers herself as being so painfully attractive that men fall at her feet whenever she leaves the house.
It is not just insulting to women though, it is also insulting to men! Now, yes us women do jest about how men have no self-control when it comes to beautiful women, but not all men are like that!!
She seems to be under the impression that every man on the planet will fall in love with her as soon as he claps eyes on her. Now, this may be the case in some situations as her "pleasing appearance and pretty smile" may have rendered men weak at the knees. However, I don't believe for one second that women dislike her because of her looks and I think Mrs Brickface needs to consider the notion that in actual fact it might be her personality that people HATE.
Did any of your read the follow up article Old Bricky published today? Well, that certainly made for some entertaining reading. She banged on about how she felt so upset about the hate mail she was receiving online, but that didn't stop her from reiterating just how beautiful she is and how she could easily steal someone's man from them in a second.
My favourite anecdote of today's article was when she said that a man saw her in her car yesterday, close to tears because of all the hate mail, and he offered to buy her a coffee. Most people would have considered this just a kind gesture of good will...but not the Brickster! Oh no, she said "He could see I was having a tough time — and yes,
my looks had helped me out again."
WHAT?? What has that got to do with her looks? The guy was being a gent and making sure she was OK. I can deal with Old Bricky loving herself, but it is these self-absorbed comments that are the real reason she has never been a bridesmaid for a friend!
Arghhhhh!!!
So, I have expressed my opinion on Bricky Brickerson, and after having a quick glance at other articles she has written it has dawned on me what is really going through her head...she is suffering some psychological issues. I say this because there is an article that she wrote about a year ago about how she suffered obesity as a child and is now obsessed with being beautiful - so much so that this has encouraged the belief that she is the most beautiful woman in the world. Hence the arrogance and self-obsession. I think that she believes that if she doesn't consider herself as being beautiful, no one else will.
All together now: "Awwwww!" ..... OK, maybe not!
Old Bricky also wrote an article about how she spent £25,000 on psychics! Well, I suggest she gets her money back as it doesn't seem she was ever warned about this little blip in her life...
Samantha Brick, if your peepers ever fall upon this blog entry, may I suggest to you that in the future, when these helpless men throw their money at you, you thank them for their generosity but tell them to give that money to charity instead?!
Your beauty may be able to help other unfortunate people after all!

Playing It Straight - The Result
***Spoilers Alert***
So, the final of Playing It Straight has arrived...and everyone was curious to know whether or not Cara picked the straight man as the winner, leaving both able to walk away with £25k.
So, did she do it??
First of all, Cara and the boys received the dreaded visit from Jameela, who informed Cara that "at least" one of the boys left was straight...and "at least" one of the boys was gay. This, of course, did not make things any easier for poor Cara.
Then, we saw Cara have to pick one of the last remaining four boys to leave the Hacienda. It was a cruel twist in the form of four envelopes that each invited the boys on a date with Cara...except envelope number 4, which saw the chosen boy get sent back home to England. That boy was....
Danny. "But before you go, I have to know...are you gay or are you straight?" - He was gay. Cheeky! But, out of the last four, he was definitely the gayest.
Cara was not happy.
So, after the dates, Cara still felt none the wiser. Out of Sam, Sven and Dean, she had to send someone home before picking the winner out of the final two.
Sam was invited up onto the step...Cara sent him packing. That's when she found out whether or not she made the right decision...and she had done!! Sam, just like his twin brother, was gay. After this revelation, he was told to "just go!" and off he went.
Again, Cara was not happy...
So, two boys left. Sven - the most boisterous out of everyone in the group, and deemed "too straight to be straight", and Dean - who had developed a bromance with - previously outed - Danny.
And the winner is...
Dean! Cara chose Dean as the straight man. And what did he turn out to be?
Straight!! They won! Well, this had to be the first time anyone saw Cara crack a smile since the competition began. But being £25k richer would certainly put a smile on anyone's face. There was much picking up and swinging around done while both Dean and Cara cheered.
As for Sven...who was stood there waiting to confess whether or not he was gay or straight and confirm whether Cara would have still won, or lost if she had picked him...he made his way to the top of the steps and looked Cara in those beadies of hers.
He offered the same suspense that Cara did each week while he waited to hear if he would be staying/leaving the Hacienda.
And what was he?
Gay!!! Yes - that boisterous little beast turned out to be gay! What a player. Luckily for him (and his marbles) though, Cara was too happy with her recent win to really care anymore.
Out of the remaining four boys, Cara picked the only one that was straight as the winner!
Very good - well done! Now roll on the next series...

Playing It Straight - The Name of the Game
Did you ever see the previous season of this show? June Sarpong was the hostess and the girl in Cara's position ended up choosing a gay man. She was furious with him - saying he had lied and conned her all this time. Which, yes, I agree is true, but that's the name of the game!! It's called PLAYING IT STRAIGHT! That's what he was there to do.
June was just as horrid to the guy too when it came out that he had...come out. (Teeheehee - a little pun there for you) She was giving him dirty looks, shaking her head, didn't speak to him. She went right down in my estimation after that. Surely she should be impartial!?
Anyway, my point about this last part is that Cara, from the current series (see previous blog) seems to be going the same way. She clearly does not have any emotional attachment to the remaining boys (or any of the previous ones) so she is clearly in it for the money now. However, she keeps telling the boys that she will be really angry if they turn out to be gay. In other words, she'll be bitter that they played a better game than she did and she doesn't want to go home empty handed. Greed!
Jameela Jamil (the hostess of this year's show) should not react like June did...I'll be very disappointed if she does, and expect to see a blog expressing that...!

Have you seen this programme? It's hilarious!
Cara, the girl searching for her perfect partner...and £25k...is trying to seek the straight men within a mixed bag of straight and gay men.
I should mention at this point that if Cara picks a straight man in the final showdown to share the £50k pot with, they share the money ( £25k each for anyone not feeling mathematical today). HOWEVER, if she chooses a gay man at the end, he walks away with the whole pot! That's right, he gets twice as much for fooling her, and she walks away with nothing!
She started off doing quite well and sent a few gay men packing from the Hacienda where they are all staying. Now, she seems to be firing directly at the straight men...you can't blame her though; most of them are very camp.
Each week (although I imagine it's days in reality) we see Cara sending the boys on a variety of tasks where they have to prove their heterosexuality! This is where it gets tricky though. Some of the gay men are so buff and manly that they conceal their homosexuality very well.
I love that though, as it proves that people should not stereotype. I've been on Cara's side many a time believing that the person she has sent home is gay and he is straight, and vice versa.
Anyway, so at the moment we are left with four men: Sam, Danny, Dean and Sven.
It's so hard to call! But here is what I think:
Sam: Gay/Straight - Hard to tell as his twin brother, Ben, who was eliminated last night, was gay and I'm unsure of whether or not both twins are gay. According to my friend, it's common for both twins to be gay. So, that's why I'm undecided on Sam.
Danny: Gay - I would be surprised if he is straight. He's the only one out of the four that I'm adamant about their sexuality.
Dean: Straight - Part of me does want to say gay...and I'm very tempted to change my prediction...but I think he does genuinely care about Cara, so I don't think he would want to hurt her. I'd be surprised if he has been conning her all along.
Sven: Straight - As it stands, and possibly has done for a while, he is the straightest man in the Hacienda. He is so boisterous and pig-headed that I'd be shocked if he is gay. However, he has said many a time to Cara that he doesn't fancy her and he is solely there for the money. Is £25k enough or is he double-bluffing and going for the £50k?? It's very hard to tell.
Now, even if you don't really care about the competition, you should definitely just watch this programme for the narration of Alan Carr. Oh my Goodness, he is absolutely hilarious!!! I have actually been laughing out loud (lolling!) from his comments about the boys. Comedy Gold.

Katy Perry and Russell Brand
It was so sad to see that Katy Perry and Russell Brand are getting divorced. There seems to be a worldwide commiseration for their split.
However, on the bright side, when Katy Perry breaks up with someone, she knocks out a great tune that makes every girl know that they don't need a man to be the best that they can be.

TOWIE
It's taken me a while, but I've finally gotten into TOWIE!
This came about when I decided to sign-up to Netflix through the PS3. They have offered me a month's free trial (allowing me to cancel my membership at any time before the trial runs out, without charge) so when I had a night free, I decided to watch some of The Only Way is Essex and see what the fuss is all about.
Well, just like with Laguna Beach, The Hills and Made in Chelsea, I am now hooked by all the drama. in the past couple of weeks I have managed to watch all three seasons so am up to date enough to watch Season 4.
I must say, the characters do not seem as bitchy as they do in the other dramality programmes, but there is certainly an ample amount of drama to contend with so it's not too bad. The only person that I'm not too struck on is Lauren Goodger. I am trying my hardest to like her but she's the only one that seems to go out of her way to stir things up. Does anyone else feel that way?
Amy Childs is possibly my favourite from the first two seasons. She's as daft as a brush (to put it politely) but she's very sweet. And as the show has continued, I would have to say (out of the girls) my favourite is Chloe Sims. She's adorable!! To look at, she is a walking Barbie doll, but there really is a sweetheart underneath all the plastic. Gemma Collins is also a sweetie, and I love her relationship with the Twins.
Kirk was very annoying. Was it just me who was cringing whenever he was "flirting" with girls?
Now, I have to say it, and I have been advised that this is very wrong...but I have to admit that I have the hots for Arg!! He is so cute and cuddly. Do you agree that this is wrong...??
Right, well, I've somewhat brought you up to speed with my thoughts on TOWIE! I'm now off to get a vajazzle...

The X Factor - Quarter Finals
Well, since the last time I wrote about the X Factor, we have lost The Risk, Johnny, Kitty, Frankie, Craig and Janet...and we have regained Amelia Lily.
So, first of all...I am devastated that Kitty has gone. I wanted her to win - she was so spectacular for an X Factor contestant. But, c'est la vie I suppose. I now want Little Mix to win!!
I was so glad that Frankie went as, let's face it, he did not deserve to be part of the live shows. He was a very naughty boy and I loved, loved, LOVED how people across social networking sites had dubbed him "Frankie Cokeupthenozza" - very clever indeed!! I was very disappointed that we did not get to see him go personally but he did have a very big girly fanbase so I think they would have kept him in till the final. So, every cloud...
Who do I think is going to win?
Well, like I said, I would now like Little Mix to win as I think they are growing to be such a strong girl group (please, please, PLEASE, stop calling them a "Band" X Factor Judges!! Until I see them playing instruments they are just a group!!) - I particularly loved their performance of Katy Perry's 'E.T'. I know you are thinking that I am biased due to my love for KP, but it is because of that reason I should be biased to not approve of their version of the song...
Amelia Lily coming back has certainly thrown a spanner in the works - she is very good!! However, I was disappointed when she said last week "this shows that I should have been here from the start". That may be the case, AL, but a little modesty goes a long way...
I'm just saying!
Finally, thank goodness Janet has gone. She definitely deserved to go after the SECOND debacle of forgetting the words. Once was bad enough, but at such a late stage in the competition, it was truly embarrassing to watch her forget the words again...and then AGAIN later on in the song.
So, the competition has now been left wide open for Little Mix, Marcus, Misha B and Amelia Lily to steal the top spot...
Although this year's X Factor has been particularly boring compared to previous years, it should be an interesting final...

Oh my Goodness!
One of the best things I ever did was purchase tickets to see Katy Perry's 'California Dreams' Tour in October 2011.
Her show HAD to be the best I had ever seen. She had clearly put SO much thought into the show to make it as spectacular as it was. There were continuous dress changes on stage, different style dancers (a mime act at one point), effective lights and...get this...a pink fluffy candyfloss cloud that Katy Perry hopped onto and flew into the crowd on, playing guitar and singing "Thinking of You".
Not only that, she engaged with the crowd by cracking jokes and even inviting a boy from the crowd onto the stage - she gave him a kiss and everything!! Very funny - and an experience that boy will not forget in a hurry.
I have to say too...Katy Perry's vocals were SPOT ON!! I was so surprised at how good she was because 1) I saw her on the X Factor last year singing Firework and she was a little ropey, and 2) she was running around the stage constantly! However, she sounding bloody amazing. Her last but one song was Firework and it was incredible - she sounded great. I don't know how she did it considering she was on the stage for two hours. Yes, TWO HOURS, people!!
I bought the tickets for £30 each and had a two hour performance compared to a £60 ticket for Glee and had a one hour and twenty minute performance...
So, if you ever get chance to go and see Miss Perry/Mrs Brand live, snatch that opportunity up as soon as you can. It's totally worth it as she is just bloomin' fantastic.
If there was one criticism I had to make...it was that towards the end of the show Katy Perry danced (and mimed) along to Whitney Houston's 'I wanna dance with somebody'. As much as I enjoyed the dancing etc, there was no need for it as KP did not need it - her show was perfect without!!

Oh my goodness, this show has become my pleasure now - it is no longer just a guilty pleasure!!
The final to the show was outstanding - Millie Mackintosh (possibly my favourite name ever!!) discovered that her ex-boyfriend Hugo cheated on her with her BEST FRIEND, Rosie, when they were together.
Like, oh..my..God!
I could hardly contain myself with all the drama.
However, sadly the season has come to a close and I now have to wait three weeks - yes, THREE weeks - before I get a refill of that juicy goodness.
Christmas special is on 19th December!
Ollie Locke still proves to be my favourite character from the show - he is absolutely hilarious with his flamboyant campness. I wish he was my friend - I imagine we'd have lots of fun together.
On the boring side of the show... Caggie is still stringing Spencer along. *Yawn*
The final to the show was outstanding - Millie Mackintosh (possibly my favourite name ever!!) discovered that her ex-boyfriend Hugo cheated on her with her BEST FRIEND, Rosie, when they were together.
Like, oh..my..God!
I could hardly contain myself with all the drama.
However, sadly the season has come to a close and I now have to wait three weeks - yes, THREE weeks - before I get a refill of that juicy goodness.
Christmas special is on 19th December!

Charlie Simpson
Dear bloggers/readers,
I have deleted my previous post about Charlie Simpson as, four months after that bad boy was posted, I received a few angry (and somewhat abusive) comments from his fans. Out of respect I have taken the post down as my intention was not to offend or hurt anyone's feelings.
I hope this is the end of the matter and I shall not insult the former Busted (and Fightstar) musician again.

Horrible Histories - BAFTA Awards
It truly does deserve it as it's incredibly intellectually written and certainly makes learning about History fun. I was not a fan of the subject at school - possibly due to the teachers; I'm sure they were historical themselves! - and after watching this show, I have learnt so much about various eras and historical figures than I ever would have done at school. It's truly marvellous!
Wonderfully, it's not just the show that has been nominated for a BAFTA Award; one of the show's actresses has also been nominated. The outstanding Martha Howe-Douglas has been put forward for a nomination in the 'Performer' category.
I wish the best to the show and to Martha as they both/all deserve to win... (again...)

The X Factor - Tulisa's Tattle Tales
Oh dear - there was quite a bit of uproar on Saturday. I don't know what was wrong with the judges but, for some reason, they were bickering like a bunch of old crows.
Answer: Tulisa giving Misha B a telling off for being a bit of a nasty pasty backstage. Now, I do not agree with bullying and, if she has been quite vicious towards the other contestants, it does need to be stopped; but there is a time and a place for such reprimanding...and on the live show, for the whole nation to see, was not the place.

The X Factor - Kitty Update 2
As those of you have visited my blog previously will know, I have developed admiration for Kitty's performances on the X Factor.
Yes, yes, I know she isa bit of very much an odd ball; but, my foot, that girl is entertaining!
Once again, she stole the show on Saturday night with her performance of Live and Let Die. AND, she was one of the very few that actually did a rock song!
But the public are focusing too much on her bizarre personality and feigning ignorance to the fact that she is a great entertainer - who can actually sing!
So, I was very frustrated that she was in the bottom two on the results show last night - but, admittedly, not surprised because, as I have stated in a previous blog, it's primarily young girls that vote for these shows and they're all rooting for Frankie.
Her version of Lady Gaga's The Edge of Glory totally (to quote my friend, Q) "blew Sami out of the water".
It's a shame this show is not based on talent, as it should be, and is more of a popularity contest - no wonder we never hear of previous winners of the show!

After Frankie seems to have plummeted to new lows with his whispering talking screeching singing(?), and was wrongly saved last week, I thought he would be going this week...
BUT, alas, the fans of the people who can actually sing (such as Sami and Kitty - who were in the bottom two last night) just cannot match up to the hormone-riddled teenagers who are smitten with thelovable cheeky rogue because they, let's face it, are the only ones who really take the time to vote for these acts.
Admittedly, Sami did not match up to others on Saturday night which I agree is Louis's fault, as it is him who kept giving her cruise-ship songs. Each week she has been transforming more and more into Jane McDonald. However, she does have her own mind and could have stood up for her singing and said to Louis "This is NOT the song to sing - I need to sing something more modern!"...
BUT, after watching her "time on the X Factor" video, she came onto the stage and said, directly to Louis, "I want you!" - confirmation that she would not defy his wishes and would act as his puppet bydancing singing to the beat of his drum.
A shame really, she was very talented!
Getting rid of Frankie last week would have paved the way for Sami to have an Xtra (like what I did there?) week on the show - because I'm pretty sure No Vibe would have been goners this week...

Made in Chelsea
Is anyone else finding this show annoyingly addictive?
I never got into TOWIE, and I vowed not to get into MiC either... but I just can't seem to stop myself from watching it.
Ollie seems to be the most endearing as he poses, very bizarrely, for his modelling shoots. His facial expressions, particularly in last night's episode, were truly hilarious. And don't even get me started on the time a modelling agent told him during an interview that he may need to cut his hair. Here's a taster of what he looked like...

The rest of the cast prove to be terribly annoying (especially Spencer, Caggie and Hugo) but I still can't help getting drawn into their ridiculously posh lives.
Perhaps I am just jealous because I don't get whisked away by friends to huge country manors for dinner parties, or go on first dates where someone takes me to a park bench and offers me champagne...
I need to rethink my life!
The X Factor - Amelia Lily
Oh dear! I've just read that Amelia Lily, who was dropped by Kelly Rowland, ran from the stage in a strop after hearing her fate.
What a brat! If there's one thing I really cannot stand about The X Factor contestants, it's when they pout and sulk because they have found out that they are not as good as they thought they were. Of course they are going to be upset, this is expected, but to actually hang their heads and fail to communicate with Dermot, their Judge, or the audience, is absolutely cringe-worthy.
They should be ashamed!
I would much prefer it if they accepted the Judges', and the public's, decision to boot them and get on with it. Smile with dignity and show support for the rest of the competitors!

Silas Blissett
I had to blog about this as I found it very funny and it certainly brightened up my day...
I tweeted a message today that read "As much as I love Psycho Silas I do wish they would tie up the storyline now!"
Next thing I know, I have a reply from none other than Silas Blissett himself!!! It read: "Love you too"
Of course, if I were in the Hollyoaks village I would indeed consider it to be quite horrifying!
However, as I am not, it was a very comedic surprise to see such a response to my tweet.

Twitter Twits
As the old advice goes, you should never meet your heroes as you will be disappointed.
Well, I'm wondering if this actually applies to today's society...
I am now following several comedians/comediennes on Twitter and must say...I'm very disappointed!
They're just not funny!!
I know, I know, they can't be funny all the time, but babbling on about every day, mediocre things just proves that Twitter is an excuse for celebrities - and I use the term very loosely - to express just how pretentious their founded fame has made them!
Now, if you don't mind, I have some very important blogging to do regarding a dilemma I encountered today involving vegetable and minestrone soup...
P.s. One comedian who has proven to be extremely delightful to follow is Laurence Rickard @Lazbotron (one of the actors from Horrible Histories who was recommended by a friend)
